The Best Farmers Markets in Baltimore!

Do you want to support local businesses and be a sustainable consumer?

Go to your local farmers markets!

Farmers markets are a fun way to get fresh produce, baked goods, flowers, and so much more! Our CEO Nina goes to the farmers market every week. Here are three of the best markets here in Baltimore:

1. Govan’s Market

Wednesdays 3-6pm starting in June located on 5104 York Road

They offer goods such as fresh vegetables, sweet treats, and handmade jewelry but most importantly, they offer a space for community. In the summer, they have free arts and crafts, games, and contests for youth, and hold programs including free summer meals for youth in need and summer employment opportunities.

2. Waverly/32nd Street Farmer’s Market

All-year- Saturdays 7am-12pm at the intersection of 32 and Barclay Streets

With over 70 vendors, this market provides an interesting array of foods and handmade products. Try the rich chai, locally sourced honey, or flavored olive oils! They also support sustainability by accepting food waste for composting, and accept debit/credit card and EBT in exchange for money tokens you can use to buy products.

3. The Baltimore Farmer’s Market (JFX)

Sundays, 7am-12pm at the intersection of Jones Falls Road and Holliday and Saratoga Streets

At the JFX Market you will find an eclectic variety of goods- not only produce and pastries, but artisanal items such as hand-woven baskets, pottery pieces, and small paintings. This is because it is managed by BOPA, a non-profit arts organization. If you are looking for a lively experience, try the JFX market.

The next few months are the best time to load up your getGFTD wishlist with items from the market! From fresh veggies to homemade jams, wax candles, and small-batch roasted coffees, the farmers market has something to offer for everyone.

Our mascot B'loo the Platypus says hi!
